A princess. I’m pretty sure I'm gonna be, one of these days (laughs).

Dan Garner

Describe your typical day.
There is no typical day for me. I'm responsible for everything from the accounting and finances of the club, the computers, HR. I can do all of them in one day, there's never a dull moment with my job. Member demands, I deal a lot with membership questions between myself and Nora.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Of all my responsibilities, the thing I like doing the most is the accounting side.

How long have you worked here?
Nine years in August.

What were your previous jobs?
When I graduated from college I went to work for Kuntz, Lesher, Seegrist and Martini - certified public accountants. I worked there for 8 years. I left there to be the controller for Horning Dodge Chrysler Jeep in New Holland. I had that position for six years, then for 3 years I was the Vice President of Finance & Administration. From there I came here

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
Astronaut, fireman, typical stuff little kids say. I always loved baseball so I wanted to be a baseball player too. I grew up with the Phillies. My Dad was a big Phillies fan, and they have always been a part of our family. My sister is a die hard Phillies fan too. My first memory of the Phillies is taking the train from Lancaster to Philadelphia in 1696 when I was 5 years old to see a Phillies double header at Connie Mack Stadium against the Pittsburg Pirates.  I can remember saying to my parents after the first game was over, that I was ready to go home! (laughs)

Do you have a favorite line up?
I can remember back in 1983 when they were called the Wheeze Kids because they were all older players like Joe Morgan and Pete Rose who were on the back sides of their careers Pete Incaviglia was on the team then. Gary Matthews, who is a current Phillies announcer was on the team at that time.

How often do you get to the games?
About three or four times a year.

What are your other interests or hobbies?
I love gardening. I spend a lot of time gardening. I have a vegetable garden. I have a perennial garden, I do annuals, I have a lot of shrubs, I've really built up my yard and gardens. I've lived at the house for 20 years. My dad was always big into gardening and he used to raise show mums. He would enter them into contests. He always had a vegetable plot. It was in his blood and it got passed on to me, obviously.

What is your favorite vacation spot and where would you like to visit?
Alaska. We took a Royal Caribbean cruise on the inside passage. We left from Vancouver Canada and went all the way to Hubbard Glacier with stops in Juno, Ketchikan, Skagway. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.

We're going on a cruise this year for our 20th anniversary. We leave from Baltimore and we're going to Port Canaveral Florida (with a side trip to Sea World on the way). The cruise will take us to Nassau, Bahamas.

If you could meet any famous person from history who would it be?
Ronald Reagan.

If you could go back in time to give the teen age version of yourself advice, what would you tell him?
Develop a better diet. Eat and exercise better. I was good until I got to the later years of school and then every year I progressively put on weight. I would tell myself to develop better nutritional habits. If you look at pictures of me as a freshman in high school you'd see I was a skinny little kid.

Describe your typical day
We see what items we will need for the day, get those items and then I’ll start preparing whatever we’ll need for lunch. Terry may help me if there is a lot to do. Then I help out with food for a party or an event. If it’s possible I might even prep food for the next day. I may restock, or help out Dustin with what he has to do for the day. I’ll do whatever they need me to do.

How long have you worked here?
It will be two years in May.

What were your previous jobs?
I’ve always worked in a kitchen. My previous job, before coming to LCC was at a buffet. I did prep and I would work on the salad bar and grill. It was the Family House Restaurant, but it’s closed now.

A marine biologist. I love the water and the bright tropical fish and all of the marine wildlife.

Anything, but mainly I listen to Ben Taylor, Gotye, Ryan Adams, it changes so much for me.

I like it when I make food for my friends and family and they just love it and are going crazy over it. Then the next thing you know it’s gone. That just really makes me feel good.

If you could meet any famous person who would it be?
Steven Tyler. It would be neat to see him out doing something or at a bar hanging out.

If you could go back in time and give the teen age version of yourself advice, what would you tell her?
I would tell her that you need to go to school. You can’t skip classes all the time. Focus more on your future. Care about doing your homework, and don’t just do enough to slide by, really make an effort.

Describe your typical work day.
I’m an a la carte server and there is nothing typical for a la carte dining. Working lunch and dinner it all starts with prep: getting ready for lunch service and getting whatever we can ready for dinner. Waiting on our members can always be interesting.

How long have you worked here?
This past October was either 4 or 5 years, I’ve actually lost track.

What were your previous jobs?
I was a bridal consultant/wedding planner a restaurant manager and a bartender/server.  I was an office assistant and worked with insurance. My very first job was in a sports retail store in a mall when I was in high school.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?
First I wanted to be an astronaut. Then I wanted to be a musician. When I turned 8 I wanted to be a tattoo model, and now, when I grow up I have absolutely no idea.

Tell me about your tattoos. What are they and what do they mean?
I have a bunch. The first one I got was a chain of blue roses wrapped around my ankle. When I was 16 I got it for my mother. She loves blue roses and when I was a kid every birthday, anniversary and holiday, my dad would have us dye white roses blue for her. I wanted something that would always remind me of her.
Then I started getting them when I was 18 almost one or two a year actually. My back is almost fully covered. I have flowers, fairies, and butterflies and with my latest being a mermaid that Karen Hunt, a banquet server here, had finished up the drawing for me.  For me they are all about beauty, freedom and vitality. I also have a paw print on the top of my foot; my dog that passed away, it’s his paw print. He was awesome.

What is your favorite place and where would you like to visit?
My favorite place is Arizona, it’s absolutely beautiful there. It’s hot but gorgeous. If I could visit any place I’d like to go to Sydney, Australia. I’ve always wanted to go there but have never had the opportunity, that’d be a dream come true.

Do you have any pets?
I have two dogs. Both Border Collies. KCee and Arizona.

Do you follow any sports teams?
Oh I love sports! My favorite is baseball. I love the Phillies. I also like hockey, the Flyers, women’s soccer, and football. I like the Eagles and the Buccaneers.

What is your favorite food?
I don’t have a favorite food, there is a lot I like. If I had to choose something first, I’d pick shrimp and lobster over anything else.

What are some of your favorite TV shows?
I love, love, love ‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘Camelot’, and recently got into ‘Hell on Wheels’, and ‘Blue Collar Comedy’. I like some reality shows too, but nothing like ‘Jersey Shore’ or ‘Teen Mom’.

What are your favorite movies?
‘Gladiator’, ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Sixteen Candles’ (I’m a huge Molly Ringwald fan). I’m really into animated movies too, Disney stuff. And I love old movies, anything in black and white.

What music do you listen to?
I listen to almost everything; my iPod has almost two  thousand songs on it ranging from instrumental to country, rock to rap.

If you could go back and give the teen age version of yourself advice, what would you tell her?
Um… it would be when I got my first speeding ticket. I’d tell myself that just because I got my license didn’t mean I had to drive like a bat out of hell. Slow down before I lost my license, it’s definitely not worth the hassle.
