Matt Goudie

What is a typical work day for you?

During the season we run tournaments for the members, sell items in the shop, teach lessons.
It's usually a full 8 hour shift working either an early, middle or late shift, but some days we're here from
sun-up to sundown.

How did you get interested in golf?

I grew up playing a little bit with friends, but when I got into high school all of my friends were on the golf team and I didn't have anything else going on, so I started playing. And then it just took off from there. I wasn't very good at golf in high school until my senior year when I got serious and started playing more. Before that, I just did it for fun since I had nothing else to do.

What previous jobs have you had?

I worked at Weis Markets in Willow Street. I worked at Cross Gates golf course, and Media Heights in college doing internships, and during college I ran a club repair shop, and worked at a couple of other courses as a part time job.

What is your favorite food?

Macaroni and cheese - the good kind. Not the Kraft version.

What is your favorite place?

Park City, Utah for snowboarding.

Where would you like to visit?

Scotland or Ireland, to play golf.

Do you have other hobbies or interests?

I hunt and fish, and snowboard in the winter. I do a little mountain biking from time to time and I also play hockey.

What are some TV shows that you enjoy?

Pawn Stars, hunting and fishing shows, Penguins and Steelers games - I try to watch every one I can.

What kind of music do you like?

I listen to Country music a lot.

When you were growing up what did you want to be?

An airline pilot.

What is something that you'd love to do one day?

I'd like to go heliskiing. It's where a helicopter drops you off on the top of a mountain and you ski your way down. That would top my list.

What is the best gift that you've ever received?

Probably my first shot gun.

What famous person would you like to meet for
dinner?

Dan Bylsma, coach of the Pittsburg Penguins. He seems like a really smart guy and an interesting personality.

If you could go back and talk to the teenage version of yourself what would you tell him?

Don't be too excited to get out of school because the real world is tough! (Laughs).
Try harder in school and enjoy it more.
